Market Investments


UKFI manages the Government's investments in The Royal Bank of Scotland and Lloyds Banking Group. 

UK FINANCIAL INVESTMENTS LIMITED (UKFI) ANNUAL REPORT AND ACCOUNTS 2014/15 sets out details of the holdings as at 31 March 2015.

As at 31 March 2015, the Government held a total of 15.6 billion ordinary shares in Lloyds. This is equivalent to 21.8 percent of total share capital.

As at 31 March 2015 the Government held a total of 9.1 billion shares in RBS, including 5.1 billion non-voting B shares. This is equivalent to 62 percent of voting share capital and 79 percent of total share capital.

Intention to sell shares in Lloyds Banking Group plc through a trading plan
UKFI today announces that it intends to continue to sell Her Majesty’s Treasury’s (“HMT”) shareholding in Lloyds Banking Group plc (the “Company”) over the next twelve months through a pre-arranged trading plan that will be managed by Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc (“Morgan Stanley”).

Dividend payment received today
UKFI announces that HMT will today receive c.£130m in dividend payments, in respect of its shareholding in Lloyds Banking Group Plc. This takes total proceeds received from the Government’s investment in LBG to £16.888bn.
