Market Investments

UKFI manages the investment on behalf of the Government in The Royal Bank of Scotland, and formerly managed the Government’s investment in Lloyds Banking Group.
The UKFI Annual Report and Accounts 2016/17 sets out details of the holdings as at 31 March 2017 and share price performance over the year.
As at 31 March 2017 the Government held a total of 8.4 billion shares in RBS. This is equivalent to 71.2 percent of total share capital.
On 17 May 2017, it was announced that UKFI had sold the remaining shares in Lloyds through the trading plan announced in October 2016. A link to the announcement made by HM Treasury is available here.

Any individuals who have been approached in this way are encouraged to report this to Action Fraud.
